Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Billing Office Analyst to join our team at Arkansas Heart Hospital. This individual will be responsible for managing patient accounts, ensuring accurate and timely billing, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient accounts, including determining patient responsibility and performing Point of Service collection
  • Pre-screen patients for Medicaid eligibility and refer them to the onsite Medicaid Advocate Services for additional review and application
  • Screen patients for the hospital's financial assistance program and notify Business Office personnel of approved coverage
  • Monitor in-house patients for continued stay authorizations and work with Case Management on authorization issues
  • Notify Business Office management of non-covered accounts or excessive patient responsibility
  • Communicate with Business Office management on any issues of concern
  • Monitor patient accounts for collections and serve as liaison with clinical departments and patients regarding admission and registration processes
  • Provide detailed explanation of the Important Message from Medicare to Medicare beneficiaries and obtain signatures
  • Ensure the Important Message is placed on the patient chart and explained within 48 hours of admission and again two days prior to discharge
  • Assist in developing recommendations to maintain efficient and effective scheduling, precertification, and benefits verification processes
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Minimum two years financial experience required, with hospital and/or medical office experience preferred
Working Conditions

This position works Monday through Friday regular business hours, or as special assignments dictate.
