Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary:
Baptist Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team in an outpatient setting. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for auditing medical records to ensure accurate charging based on billing and coding guidelines. Your expertise will be essential in verifying documentation supports all charges posted and collaborating with departments to improve documentation when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough audits of medical records to ensure compliance with billing and coding guidelines
• Verify documentation supports all charges posted and work with departments to improve documentation
• Collaborate with coding team to ensure accurate and consistent coding practices
• Develop and maintain knowledge of billing guidelines from various payers and charge master methodologies
Requirements:
• Minimum of two years acute hospital inpatient and outpatient coding and/or charge auditing experience
• Minimum of two years data analysis experience using spreadsheets software such as Excel
• Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology
• Self-starter with minimal direction and supervision required
