Position Summary:

We are in search of a motivated Commercial Construction Project Leader to manage and direct commercial construction initiatives. The successful candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience in commercial and restaurant construction, demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, and effectively coordinate project activities. This position includes health insurance options, travel reimbursements, and the chance to be part of our expanding team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Formulate detailed project plans encompassing budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Develop and oversee construction project budgets and timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, building codes, and regulations.
  • Recruit, manage, and mentor construction personnel and subcontractors.
  • Oversee all stages of construction projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess project progress, quality assurance, and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to meet project goals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on project status to stakeholders.
  • Identify and address potential risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Ensure that all work aligns with project specifications and quality standards.

Traveling Project Superintendent Responsibilities:

  • Creating a schedule and cost-effective plan for the successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Coordinating and scheduling the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers.
  • Regularly inspecting work for quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Monitoring project budgets and communicating any variances.
  • Addressing safety violations or other deficiencies as they arise.
  • Performing additional related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, principles, materials, and tools.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and engage with external vendors.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam or similar software for interpreting plans.
  • Competent in MS 360.

Required Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in construction project management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and schedules in construction projects.
  • Experience leading a construction crew and overseeing construction sites.
  • Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) are advantageous.
  • Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new programs for reporting, file sharing, and communication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely with internal and external team members.
  • Capability to read plans, perform material take-offs, and compile and distribute daily and weekly progress reports.
  • Understanding of the Request for Information (RFI) and submittal processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with management and colleagues.
  • Capability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in both indoor office environments and outdoor construction sites, with exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, and varying weather conditions.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
