Job Opportunity

Denark Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Controller to support our Accounting Department in creating and maintaining an effective financial management program.

This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle highly confidential information with the utmost integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement corporate policies, procedures, and executive committee directives.
  • Develop annual Profit Plan & Budget in conjunction with annual Business Plan.
  • Establish and implement corporate financial and accounting policies, procedures, structures on accounting, budgeting, taxes, planning, and forecasting, financial reporting, and performance measurement.
  • Analyze the company's on-going financial position and all aspects of business activities as they relate to financial requirements and matters, in order to identify any significant deviations from sound financial planning or from the sound allocation of capital and recommend corrective action when necessary.
  • Develop and implement a monthly comprehensive system of financial reporting for the organization's management team, such reporting giving all the necessary information on a timely basis upon which to make management decisions.
  • Develop, implement, and manage an adequate system of internal controls that provides for both the protection of assets and the accurate reporting of performance.
  • Provide administrative and technical direction to all financial operations to ensure corporate financial data is accurate, specifically as it relates to job cost and job cost to complete with Project Managers.
  • Oversee the collection of all funds and approve all company disbursements.
  • Manage cash flow and maintain cash flow projection.
  • May act as a project accountant on certain projects.
  • May represent the company at industry or community functions or meetings.
  • May be assigned additional tasks as requested by supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years of industry Controller experience, preferably in construction.
  • Bachelor's in Accounting from an accredited four-year university.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Proficiency in Sage 300CRE preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
