The Field Engineer at Hoar Construction plays a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects. This position requires a strong understanding of project management principles and the ability to work closely with project managers, superintendents, and other team members to facilitate project delivery and administrative requirements.

Responsibilities include assisting with the compilation of project close-out/operation and maintenance manuals, coordinating document control, and updating Procore in conjunction with processing Requests for Information, Submittals, Drawing Logs, and other management tools.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and 0-2 years of construction experience. Proficiency in MS Office and basic MEP knowledge are also required.

As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for developing industry relationships and expanding professional networks that have the potential to generate future sales opportunities. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining the Contract Document Log and updating it with current information.

Additionally, you will initiate, organize, and attend project meetings with appropriate members of the project team and ensure that meeting agendas and meeting minutes are produced and distributed to attendees and other necessary parties.

The Field Engineer will also be responsible for ensuring the proper bid documents are sent to bidders and planning rooms for various bid packages as they come online. You will build and maintain the bidders list and maintain current construction documents.

Other responsibilities include maintaining the CBI report and ensuring all insurance is up to date, receiving and acting accordingly on RFI's from contractors, maintaining RFI logs, reviewing submittals, and maintaining submittal logs.

The Field Engineer will support the management of the day-to-day project, including but not limited to, responding to pay requests, change orders, RFI's, submittals, contracts, and purchase orders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • 0-2 years of construction experience or a construction graduate
  • Basic MEP knowledge
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Valid Driver's License Required
  • LEED AP and OSHA 10 Hour a plus

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

The Field Engineer will work in an indoor and outdoor setting with exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions, and travel from site to site.

Physical:

  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting
  • To stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • To occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
  • To lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight
  • To operate equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination
  • To travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation
  • To verbally communicate to exchange information

Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
