About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Therapeutic Area Biomarker Lead to join our team at Novartis. As a key member of our Biomarker Development group, you will play a critical role in leading the development of biomarkers for our renal and global health portfolios.

As a Therapeutic Area Biomarker Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of biomarker leads and subject matter experts to develop and implement biomarker strategies for our clinical projects. You will work closely with our clinical teams and decision boards to ensure that our biomarker strategies are aligned with our clinical goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement biomarker strategies for our renal and global health portfolios
  • Lead a team of biomarker leads and subject matter experts to develop and implement biomarker strategies
  • Work closely with our clinical teams and decision boards to ensure that our biomarker strategies are aligned with our clinical goals
  • Develop and maintain deep understanding of translational biomarkers for our projects, focused on compound, disease, target, and pathway biology
  • Lead strategic translational data groups centered on integrating and analyzing large-scale patient multi-modal data sets
  • Provide thought leadership with other BMD therapeutic area TABLs to identify alignments and drive innovation across our large and diverse clinical portfolio
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of deep understanding and experience working in biology and translational research of renal diseases and/or global health diseases
  • PhD, MD, PharmD or MD/PhD degree
  • Scientific excellence supported by academic and/or industry career track, and/or high-quality publications
  • Significant proven experience after your MD/PhD/postdoc including drug development, clinical research, or translational research
  • Experience and familiarity with quantitative research and data is strongly preferred, including expertise in biostatistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, clinical imaging, machine learning, genetics, proteomics or data science
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $166,400 - $249,600 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, financial, and paid time off benefits. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.

Please note that this position will be located at our Cambridge, MA site and will require approximately 5% travel as defined by the business.
