Job Overview


We are looking for a dynamic and driven professional to oversee Visa's Crisis Response Program and various related initiatives, including policies and procedures.

The Vice President will leverage strategic leadership, risk management techniques, analytical reasoning, and program oversight skills.

This leader will collaborate with all management levels and business partners across the organization to devise and implement innovative strategies for identifying, mitigating, and preparing for diverse risks facing the company.

The VP will be a key player in the enterprise-wide aspects of our crisis response program.


As part of the broader global Operational Resilience initiative, the Crisis Response Program offers guidance for the overall management of events that may threaten or impact Visa's personnel, reputation, services, and operational capabilities.


The Vice President will work closely with senior leaders in Operations, Client Services, Risk, Treasury, Country Managers, and other critical stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective coordination and execution of Crisis Response activities.

The individual will lead crisis management teams and partner with Operational Resilience and Risk leadership to establish a vision and direction that fosters continuous enhancement of policies, standards, and procedures.


This Vice President is acknowledged as a senior authority in crisis management, providing insights and recommendations to management and executives during crisis situations.

The Vice President will represent the program during internal and external audits and regulatory assessments.



Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the long-term vision and strategy of the global Crisis Response program, encompassing individual functions such as:
    • Crisis Response Operations
    • Crisis Response Planning
    • Crisis Response Training and Exercises
    • Crisis Response Mission Assurance initiatives
  • Lead the Crisis Response program in alignment with Visa's Leadership Principles.
  • Serve in a leadership role on the Operational Resilience Leadership Team, reporting to the Senior Vice President of global Operational Resilience.
  • Oversee professional development initiatives and monitor the ongoing operational readiness of a team of crisis managers across various regions.
  • Support Operational Resilience initiatives across Visa's geographical areas, collaborating with regional risk leaders and other partners.
  • Develop processes to assess overall Crisis Response performance and readiness capabilities, ensuring an efficient and effective program that meets annual commitments and regulatory standards.
  • Foster staff development, inspiring and motivating team members to achieve their best and meet key program objectives while prioritizing talent retention and creating an inclusive environment.
  • Be available for extensive off-hour responses to manage incidents effectively.
  • During an incident, responsibilities include activating crisis management teams, facilitating meetings, coordinating activities, and ensuring communication across all Visa disciplines, including regular updates to the Executive Committee.
  • Accountable for delivering annual program activities to fulfill commitments and regulatory requirements, including structuring, developing, exercising, and maintaining crisis management teams and plans for both life safety and business incidents across the organization.
  • Represent the Crisis Response function to internal and external regulatory and audit teams, addressing inquiries appropriately.
  • Ensure the global risk framework methodology is integrated and adopted within the Crisis Response function, collaborating with first-line partners to effectively remediate risks and process gaps.

This is a hybrid position. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week, with a general expectation of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
