Position Overview

Timmons Group is in search of a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Renewable Energy Group. This role is based in our Richmond, VA office and focuses on land development for large-scale wind and solar energy projects across the nation.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Utilizing relevant software and AutoCAD Civil 3D technology to design project components.
  • Applying engineering principles and computational tools to perform calculations and resolve technical challenges.
  • Generating comprehensive reports that include all necessary documentation and visuals.
  • Researching and specifying materials for projects, ensuring proper installation and compliance.
  • Finalizing design details and producing complete plan sets.
  • Conducting research and drafting objective summary reports for project completion and inspections.
  • Assisting in the development of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Carrying out field observations, inspections, and data collection as directed.
  • Facilitating communication between client representatives and the internal design team.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical writing capabilities.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
