Timmons Group is in search of a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Traffic Analysis and Planning to enhance our Traffic Analysis and Planning Group. This role is pivotal in contributing to our projects and initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting operational assessments, corridor evaluations, traffic studies, innovative intersection designs, traffic calming measures, and safety evaluations;
- Assessing and implementing bicycle, pedestrian, and multi-modal feasibility and designs;
- Utilizing engineering principles and computational tools to perform calculations and solve complex problems;
- Conducting research and drafting objective summary reports that support project completion;
- Assisting in the development of engineering planning timelines and budget estimates;
- Carrying out field observations, inspections, and data collection tasks;
- Engaging with client personnel and collaborating with internal design teams;
- Presenting findings and recommendations to the public.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline;
- Between two to six years of experience in Transportation or Traffic Engineering and Planning;
- Proficiency in Synchro, SIDRA, and HCS software;
- Familiarity with Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing;
- Experience with bicycle, pedestrian, and multi-modal projects is preferred;
- Basic knowledge of CAD and/or GIS is advantageous;
- Experience collaborating with Department of Transportation (DOT) and local agencies;
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
