Position Overview

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Traffic Analysis and Planning professional to enhance our Traffic Analysis and Planning Group. This role is pivotal in contributing to various traffic-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting operational analyses, corridor assessments, traffic studies, innovative intersection designs, traffic calming measures, and safety evaluations;
  • Performing feasibility studies and designs for bicycle, pedestrian, and multi-modal transportation systems;
  • Utilizing engineering principles and computational tools to resolve complex issues;
  • Researching and drafting objective summary reports essential for project completion;
  • Assisting in the formulation of engineering planning timelines and budget estimates;
  • Carrying out field observations, inspections, and data collection tasks;
  • Engaging with client representatives and collaborating with internal design teams;
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline;
  • Between two to six years of experience in Transportation and Traffic Engineering and Planning;
  • Proficiency in Synchro, SIDRA, and HCS software;
  • Familiarity with Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing;
  • Experience with bicycle, pedestrian, and multi-modal projects;
  • Basic knowledge of CAD and/or GIS;
  • Experience collaborating with Department of Transportation and local agencies;
  • PE or EIT certification is preferred.
