Clinical Nurse Educator Lead

Overview:

The Clinical Educator Lead is accountable for the management and organization of all formal clinical education initiatives. This role involves directing the planning, development, and execution of educational programs tailored to fulfill the learning requirements of nursing staff. The position requires identifying the clinical training needs of the organization and overseeing the creation of relevant curricula. Additionally, the Clinical Educator Lead will facilitate leadership development programs for charge nurses and preceptors, while collaborating with nursing leadership to address educational needs and guide the development of instructional programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct continuous assessments of educational needs in collaboration with clinical leadership, establishing both short-term and long-term educational objectives based on identified priorities.
  • Supervise and guide the formulation of annual clinical education plans that align with the organization’s needs assessment.
  • Manage staff performance, including the evaluation of teaching methodologies, training delivery, content effectiveness, and course assessments.
  • Develop and enforce clinical education and training policies and procedures aimed at enhancing the organization’s operational efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and direction for designated educational programs as required.
  • Engage in the ongoing development and coordination of medical-surgical residency and ECG training programs.
  • Support organization-wide initiatives for continuing education in advanced cardiac life support and basic life support as an instructor.
  • Participate in team projects, meetings, and community events as necessary, and accept special assignments related to educational coordination.
  • Contribute to facility process improvement initiatives by engaging in projects that address identified needs.
  • Support the organization’s overarching goals in alignment with the five pillars of excellence and service objectives.
  • Coordinate training requests in accordance with the established goals of nursing leadership and the education director.
  • Effectively promote and advocate for educational initiatives within the organization as part of the strategic framework.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Current RN License in the state of employment or compact
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
