Summary:

Accountable for the management and organization of all formal clinical education initiatives. Tasked with leading the design, development, and implementation of clinical educational programs tailored to the learning requirements of the nursing staff. Responsible for assessing the clinical training needs of the organization and overseeing curriculum development. Engages with nursing leadership to address educational requirements and guides the creation of instructional programs. Collaborates with the education department to deliver effective training.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts continuous needs assessments with clinical leadership to plan and coordinate the development of educational programs as necessary. Establishes short and long-term objectives based on identified priorities.
  • Oversees and directs the formulation of annual clinical education plans based on organizational needs assessments.
  • Manages staff performance, including evaluating teaching methods, training delivery, content, and course feedback.
  • Develops and enforces clinical education and training policies and procedures that enhance the organization's operational effectiveness.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to designated programs as required.
  • Participates in the ongoing coordination and advancement of the medical-surgical residency and ECG program.
  • Supports organization-wide initiatives for continued education in advanced cardiac life support and basic life support as an instructor.
  • Engages in team projects, meetings, and community events as necessary. Accepts special assignments related to the coordination and direction of the educational process.
  • Involved in facility process improvement initiatives and contributes by participating in projects identified based on areas of need.
  • Supports the organization-wide objectives towards the five pillars of excellence and service goals.
  • Coordinates training requests aligned with the goals of nursing leadership and the director of education.
  • Effectively promotes and markets education within the organization as part of the Strategic Plan.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • RN License in the state of employment or compact
  • BLS Certification
