Chief Financial Officer Group Insight:
The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program (FMAP internship) is designed to familiarize you with Bank of America and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Group. The CFO Group oversees the overall financial governance of our organization, which includes financial and regulatory reporting, balance sheet oversight, financial planning and analysis, treasury operations, investor relations, corporate investments, and taxation.
Internship Structure:
The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program spans 10 weeks and emphasizes financial and management accounting, corporate finance, strategic finance, and internal treasury operations within the CFO Group. Summer Analysts engage in various activities aimed at promoting collaboration, enhancing networking opportunities, and interacting with senior leadership.
Our objective for Summer Analysts is to expand their academic foundation—particularly in technical competencies, industry insights, and familiarity with a corporate setting—while pursuing their career paths aligned with their interests and backgrounds. Training and development are our primary focus, with extensive formal training provided at the program's outset, complemented by on-the-job support, events, and mentorship throughout. These opportunities include but are not limited to:
- Bank-sponsored training sessions covering Banking Mechanics, Data Literacy, Executive Presentation Skills, and more.
- Intern Mentorship Initiative.
- Enterprise Executive Speaker Series.
- Diversity & Inclusion Employee Networks - LEAD for Women, Black Professional Group, LGBT+ Pride, among others.
- Continuous Educational Speakers and Events.
- Networking Gatherings.
- Community Engagement Opportunities.
A Day in the Role
FMAP Summer internships provide Analysts with insights into the overall financial governance of our organization, its vision, and culture. The Summer Analyst will undertake primary responsibilities that may encompass but are not limited to:
- Forecasting financial and non-financial trends.
- Creating models and conducting financial analyses of business investments.
- Assisting with the corporation's internal planning and management accounting tasks.
- Presenting financial data and analyses to business partners.
- Assessing opportunities for process enhancements across the CFO Group.
- Building relationships with finance executives and key stakeholders across various business lines.
Finance Management Roles
The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program assigns Analysts to support various teams within the CFO Group, which include:
- CFO COO & Governance.
- CFO Data Management.
- Corporate Treasury.
- Global Financial Control.
- Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets, and International Finance.
- Global Technology and Global Operations Finance.
- Regional Banking & Wealth Management Finance.
- Staff Support Finance.
- Strategic Forecasting and Expense Management.
*Intern team assignments are determined based on business requirements and aligned with skill sets, thus cannot be guaranteed.
Candidate Qualifications
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or accelerated (4+1) degree program from an accredited institution. Eligible candidates should have a graduation date between November 2025 and August 2026.
- Preferred GPA of 3.2 or above.
- Common fields of study include but are not limited to:
- Finance.
- Business Administration.
- Accounting.
- Information Systems.
- Economics.
- Other related disciplines.
- Candidates should demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity, a commitment to operational excellence, and a focus on achieving sustainable outcomes. Additionally, students should possess strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office, as well as exhibit proficiencies in leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical abilities, verbal and written communication, and professionalism.
