The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program (FMAP internship) is designed to familiarize you with Bank of America and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Group. The CFO Group oversees the comprehensive financial management of our organization, including financial and regulatory reporting, balance sheet oversight, financial planning and analysis, treasury functions, investor relations, corporate investments, and taxation.

Internship Structure:

The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program spans 10 weeks and emphasizes financial and management accounting, corporate finance, strategic finance, and internal treasury operations within the CFO Group. Summer Analysts engage in various activities aimed at promoting teamwork, fostering networking opportunities, and interacting with senior leadership.

Our objective for Summer Analysts is to enhance their academic foundation—specifically technical expertise, industry insights, and familiarity with a corporate setting—while pursuing their career paths aligned with their interests and backgrounds. Training and development are paramount, with extensive formal training provided at the program's commencement, complemented by on-the-job support, events, and mentorship throughout. A Day in the Role

FMAP Summer internships provide Analysts with insights into the overall financial management of our organization, its vision, and culture. The Summer Analyst will undertake primary responsibilities that may encompass but are not limited to:

  • Forecasting financial and non-financial trends.
  • Creating models and conducting financial analyses of business investments.
  • Assisting in the corporation's internal planning and management accounting activities.
  • Presenting financial data and analyses to business partners.
  • Assessing opportunities for process enhancements across the CFO Group.
  • Building relationships with finance executives and key stakeholders across various business lines.

Finance Management Opportunities

The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program assigns Analysts to roles supporting one of the teams within the CFO Group, which include:

  • CFO COO & Governance.
  • CFO Data Management.
  • Corporate Treasury.
  • Global Financial Control.
  • Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets, and International Finance.
  • Global Technology and Global Operations Finance.
  • Regional Banking & Wealth Management Finance.

*Intern team assignments are determined based on business requirements and aligned with skill sets, and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or accelerated (4+1) degree program from an accredited institution. Eligible candidates should have a final graduation date between November 2025 and August 2026.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Common fields of study include but are not limited to:
    • Finance.
    • Business Administration.
    • Accounting.
    • Information Systems.
    • Economics.
    • Other related disciplines.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity, a commitment to operational excellence, and a focus on achieving sustainable outcomes. Additionally, students should possess strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office, as well as exhibit proficiency in leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical skills, verbal and written communication, and professionalism.
