Position Overview:

DLZ Corporation is seeking a motivated Entry Level Structural Engineer / Bridge Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct design engineering, bridge inspections, and other tasks that require a solid understanding of Structural Engineering principles and professional judgment.
  • Execute Structural Engineering tasks under close supervision or provide assistance to senior personnel.
  • Perform analyses and design for highway structures, systems, and equipment.
  • Create detailed drawings using CADD software.
  • Develop sketches and diagrams for engineering and technician use, and review detailed drawings and layouts.
  • Assist in compiling reports, economic and technical feasibility studies, and evaluations of alternative systems, equipment, materials, or engineering methods.
  • Support the preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, and proposals.
  • Engage in fieldwork as well as office-based tasks.
  • Exhibit a positive representation of the company and its core values.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and responsibly, adhering to the Health and Safety Plan.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
  • 0 - 3 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Engineering Intern (EI) status and pursuit of a Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred.
  • Experience with OpenRoads and/or Civil3D is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to safely navigate construction and project sites while complying with all relevant safety codes and regulations.
