These federally and state-funded initiatives aim to comprehensively analyze, understand, and mitigate the impact of PFAS within soil-water-plant systems. Your role will involve a diverse range of activities, including:

  • Developing and implementing analytical methods for PFAS detection in biosolids, soil, and plant samples.
  • Conducting experiments to investigate PFAS sorption and transport within soils, as well as their uptake by plants.
  • Evaluating mitigation strategies for PFAS contamination and assessing associated risks.
  • Analyzing experimental data, elucidating fundamental mechanisms, and contributing to scientific publications and grant proposals.
  • Supervising graduate and undergraduate students, managing laboratory operations, and collaborating with researchers and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates possess a Ph.D. in soil chemistry, environmental chemistry, analytical chemistry, environmental engineering, plant science, agronomy, or a closely related field. Experience with PFAS analysis is highly desirable but not mandatory.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong research aptitude, including the ability to design experiments, conduct independent research, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
