Overview

Northern Impact, a prominent multidisciplinary design firm, is on the lookout for a skilled Project Lead Architect to enhance their dynamic team.

In this capacity, you will collaborate with our esteemed thought leaders on innovative projects that emphasize strategic planning, research, sustainability, and architectural creativity. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and possess the ability to cultivate enduring strategic partnerships with clients across the region.


The firm operates multiple offices globally, focusing on diverse sectors including healthcare, arts and culture, community development, corporate design, education, and government initiatives.

Recently, Northern Impact was honored with the prestigious American Architecture Award for Museums and Cultural Buildings, as well as the IIDA Healthcare Design Award.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the project's design philosophy and contribute significantly to concepts as defined by the Project Manager or Project Architect.

• Generate construction documents utilizing Revit, encompassing plans, sections, and details.

• Assist in quality assurance for the design function, integrating and coordinating all disciplines involved in the building project.

• Maintain continuous communication to address any project modifications, design challenges, or time/budget constraints that may affect initial assignments.

• Interact and communicate effectively and professionally with fellow team members.

• Leverage your previous knowledge and experience to enhance product quality, identify potential issues, communicate impacts to the team, and seek clarity when necessary.

• Take responsibility for executing and assisting with quality control activities for architectural elements within a project.

• Review drawings, documents, and submissions for compliance and conduct thorough code reviews.


• Utilize your experience and project insights to support the Project Manager, keeping schedules and budgets in mind while providing appropriate communication with team leaders and members responsible for workflow and timelines.

• Ensure adherence to project design schedules and construction budgets.

• Assist with cost estimations and bid evaluations alongside the Project Manager.

• Aid in preparing analyses, including alternatives or substitutions aimed at cost reduction.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will possess:
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.

• 6-10 years of experience working on projects of varying scales.

• A keen interest in engaging with medium to large-scale project types within a highly collaborative setting.

• Proficiency in Revit is essential; familiarity with AutoCAD, Enscape, and other graphic tools is advantageous.

• Strong skills in both 2D and 3D graphics are desirable.

• Experience in healthcare projects and familiarity with OSHPD/DSA regulations are highly preferred.
