We are seeking a SENIOR ARCHITECT with a passion for transit and civic infrastructure projects. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with senior management to guide clients through the planning and execution of innovative, sustainable designs that are both financially viable and award-winning. Your expertise will help foster client relationships and provide valuable insights to our leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee complex tasks across multiple intricate projects.
  • Lead efforts to secure new projects through interviews and proposals.
  • Organize and direct project workflows to ensure successful delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure design alignment with budget, schedule, and intent.
  • Negotiate project agreements in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and work plans to achieve financial goals.
  • Build and maintain client relationships while providing strategic guidance.
  • Mentor and motivate a diverse team of professionals.
  • Facilitate project coordination and meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee change orders and payment applications to manage budget and schedule impacts.
  • Assist in determining project staffing needs and recommending personnel.
  • Manage client invoicing and collections effectively.

Qualifications

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Extensive experience in project management and proposal development.
  • Established relationships with transit agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility and life-safety codes, construction systems, and industry standards.
  • Proactive in taking initiative and making decisions independently.
  • Skilled in managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks.
  • Collaborative team player with clients and project teams.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Project.
  • Understanding of architectural and engineering system concepts.
  • Experience with design/build delivery methods and LEAN practices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and local agency standards and requirements, with the ability to educate others.
  • Capable of generating design alternatives and solutions quickly.
  • Proficient in design and technical concepts.

Education and Experience

A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required. Candidates should hold a degree from an accredited architectural program and possess professional experience in an architectural firm. Licensure in California is required or must be obtained within one year. LEED accreditation or experience is preferred.

Typical office environment with prolonged periods of computer use. Fieldwork may involve exposure to various weather conditions.
