Job Summary

As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in planning and organizing recreational activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our veteran residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our residents.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and provide regular reports to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community organizations to ensure a comprehensive and engaging recreational experience.
  • Provide one-on-one visits and group activities that promote socialization, relaxation, and enjoyment.
  • Assist with purchasing and inventory management of recreational supplies and materials.
  • Perform related duties as required, including transportation of residents and maintenance of a safe environment.
Requirements
  • At least two years of experience in planning, organizing, and conducting therapeutic recreation services in a recognized public or private agency.
  • Ability to work with adult and geriatric populations, including those with varying levels of impairment.
  • Knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures related to activity programs.
  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff, and community organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in recreation, recreation education, creative arts therapy, or therapeutic recreation.
  • Experience working in a long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts regulations and policies related to activity programs.
