We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreational Therapist I to join our team at the State Operated Veterans Home at Chelsea. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning and organizing recreational activities for our veteran residents, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs to meet the diverse needs of our residents
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of care
- Assist with record-keeping and accounting of activity expenditures
- Provide one-on-one visits to residents, promoting social interaction and engagement
- Transport residents to activities while ensuring a safe environment
- Minimum of two years of experience in planning, organizing, and conducting therapeutic recreation services
- Ability to work with adult and geriatric populations, including those with varying levels of impairment
- Knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures related to activity programs
- Ability to work with volunteers, veterans, and civic organizations
