We seek a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our Crisis Management Program, driving strategic leadership, risk management practices, critical thinking, and program management skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior management and business partners to create and implement innovative solutions to identify, mitigate, and prepare for various types of risks to the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership
    • Develop and implement the long-term vision and direction of the global Crisis Management program, encompassing Crisis Management Operations, Planning, Training and Exercises, and Mission Assurance initiatives.
    • Lead the Crisis Management program, embodying Visa's Leadership Principles.
  • Operational Resilience
    • Collaborate with the Operational Resilience Leadership Team, reporting to the Senior Vice President of global Operational Resilience.
    • Oversee professional development initiatives and monitor ongoing operational readiness of a team of eight crisis managers across multiple regions.
  • Crisis Management
    • Activate crisis management teams, facilitate meetings, coordinate activities, and communicate across all Visa disciplines during incidents.
    • Represent the Crisis Management function to internal and external regulatory and audit teams, addressing RFIs appropriately.
  • Global Risk Framework
    • Adopt and embed the global risk framework methodology across the Crisis Management function, serving in a second-line risk capacity while collaborating with first-line partners to remediate risks and gaps in process.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or 10+ years with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD).
  • Proven experience in a senior crisis management role, with 10+ years in crisis management functions in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong background in industry risk management practices and global program management.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, with the ability to perform well under significant pressure.
  • Strong background and experience in project management, program management, and change management practices.
  • Proven track record of success in a matrix organization, leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong aptitude for collaborating with and influencing key business partners and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional management skills, with the ability to drive consensus in cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communications skills, with experience in developing communications, briefings, and presentations to senior executives.
  • Flexible and creative thinker, with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions, and manage uncertainty.
  • Proactively identify and solve complex problems impacting management and business direction, serving as a strategic thought leader.
  • Experienced in internal and external audits, specifically providing program updates to regulators.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and familiarity with industry-recognized software (Veoci, Fusion, Everbridge).
  • Position requires travel and frequent off-hour, on-call incident management support.
