Waltham Massachusetts, United States AbbVie Full time
Job Overview:

AbbVie's Precision Medicine division is dedicated to enhancing drug development and patient outcomes by deepening our understanding of disease mechanisms and creating tools that refine clinical decision-making and tailor treatments for individual patients.

As a research scientist, you will collaborate within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team focused on pioneering and applying innovative technologies that facilitate decision-making in clinical trials while assessing disease and drug interactions.

AbbVie Oncology is in search of a skilled and driven cell biologist to become a part of the Translational Oncology Precision Medicine team.

Your role will involve engaging with pipeline candidates to support informed decision-making in clinical trials and to analyze disease and drug interactions.

The Precision Medicine team employs cutting-edge technologies to dissect cell signaling pathways and validate the mechanisms of action for various therapeutics within AbbVie's groundbreaking pipeline, thereby guiding clinical decisions related to indications, patient selection, and treatment combinations.

Success in this position is characterized by a proven ability to independently design and execute experiments, yielding reliable and reproducible results.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in cancer biology, along with experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to AbbVie's pipeline through experimental initiatives aimed at elucidating mechanisms of action, therapeutic sensitivity/resistance, and combination therapies to inform clinical strategies such as indication expansion and patient selection.

Independently design and conduct experiments to effectively meet project objectives.

Produce reliable and reproducible data promptly. Organize, analyze, and manage data autonomously. Prepare reports and present findings to the team.

Interpret experimental results and derive conclusions from your own work.

Review relevant literature and adapt scientific approaches to propel research in the field.

Independently identify, comprehend, optimize, and implement novel experimental protocols/techniques, serving as a resource or mentor for colleagues.

Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary research team in a stimulating, fast-paced environment under the guidance of a supervisor.
