We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our Diagnostics Precision Medicine efforts at GlaxoSmithKline. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for driving scientific innovation and excellence in diagnostics and precision medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of our Diagnostics Precision Medicine strategy, encompassing technical, development, regulatory, commercial, and business development efforts.
- Develop and manage a high-performing team of 3+ members, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical operations, sample management, and regulatory affairs, to ensure diagnostic testing and data generation comply with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee all technical aspects of development, assay validation, and clinical implementation of diagnostic tests, including authoring of companion diagnostic portions of informed consents, clinical protocols, and regulatory submissions.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of assigned projects, strategy, and progress, clearly reporting project outcomes and progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure learnings and best practices are shared across R&D, liaising with project teams, EDLs, DPU heads, TA heads, and Platform team leaders.
- PhD in Biological Sciences with experience in the pharmaceutical and/or IVD industry, or B.S or M.S. with pharmaceutical and/or IVD industry experience.
- Proven experience in leading global cross-functional matrix teams and defining Diagnostics strategy from an asset perspective to support global drug registrations.
- Experience in developing Diagnostics strategy with an external IVD partner to develop, validate, register Dx tests for prospective patient selection.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, high-level negotiation skills, and the ability to resolve conflict in a constructive manner.
