Job Overview:

The Program Assessment Specialist plays a vital role within the College of Dental Medicine. This position involves the planning, execution, and reporting of program evaluations, ensuring adherence to University policies, HRSA mandates, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to grant management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and document program evaluations, along with associated administrative tasks, under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research and the Project Manager, to meet program objectives and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean, Project Manager, HRSA project personnel, staff, students, and stakeholders in the planning, execution, and reporting of program evaluations, including work plan development, scheduling, and data collection.
  • Engage with project staff, partners, and stakeholders to gather data, ensure secure data transfer and storage, and compile, analyze, and summarize data for reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for University leadership, HRSA, partners, students, and other stakeholders regarding compliance, progress, performance, and program impacts.
  • Oversee program compliance with University policies, HRSA requirements, and all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the grant.
  • Research and implement innovative strategies to promote project outcomes to internal and external stakeholders, including project partners.
  • Accurately document time spent on program evaluation in accordance with HRSA/University requirements to ensure proper allocation of program costs and prevent mischarging to the grant.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, health education/promotion, or a related public health field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience, including program planning and evaluation, or a combination of education and experience that provides comparable knowledge and skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required; experience with statistical software, relational databases, and program evaluation methodologies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team, exhibiting cultural competence and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
