Your role and responsibilities

In this capacity, you will have the chance to oversee the execution of exceptionally large and/or highly intricate projects or take responsibility for a portfolio of projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are conducted in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications, and objectives. You will also demonstrate your expertise by facilitating team development and process enhancement to continuously boost the efficiency of project execution. The work model for this role is: Hybrid #LI-Hybrid This position contributes to the Electrification Installation Products division in the US. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Leading the project team, establishing the project execution strategy, overseeing project handover, execution planning, monitoring, and controlling activities for both internal and external resources to achieve all project objectives while managing customer and internal stakeholder relationships.
• Conducting project reviews for large-scale projects and Organizational Project Management (OPM) assessments, as well as performing competency evaluations for the Project Execution teams on behalf of the local division.
• Identifying internal improvement opportunities based on external project management practices relevant to ABB and advocating for continuous enhancements in project execution across the organization.
• Facilitating the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer in alignment with the contract.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field and over 10 years of experience leading field construction projects, including managing construction contractors, in the utility or electrical transmission line sector.
  • ABB Certified Senior Project Manager or Project Management Institute Certified Project Management Professional designation (PMP).
  • Preferred knowledge and experience in metallurgy and welding.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), SAP business system, and Project Planning/Scheduling applications (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
  • Completion of a 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training course in Construction Safety and Health is preferred.
  • Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
