Client Overview:

  • Focuses on delivering administrative and management solutions tailored for dermatology practices.
  • Offers a broad spectrum of dermatological services, encompassing general dermatology, surgical procedures, cosmetic enhancements, and pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight: Direct the financial reporting, strategic planning, and analytical processes; manage daily financial activities; ensure precise and prompt financial closing procedures.
  • Governance and Compliance: Establish internal controls, manage financial risk, and guarantee adherence to financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax legislation.
  • Strategic Financial Planning: Formulate and implement financial strategies, budgets, board presentations, and forecasts; provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
  • Leadership Development: Guide and mentor a team of finance professionals, encourage professional growth, and cultivate a collaborative work environment.
  • Oversight of IT and HR: Supervise procurement, budgeting, and deployment of essential IT systems; manage HR responsibilities, including employee manuals, onboarding, training programs, and compliance policies.
  • Industry Awareness: Remain informed about industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices in financial management within the healthcare sector.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential Experience and Credentials:

  • 15-20 years of relevant experience in senior financial roles, preferably as a CFO.
  • Demonstrated success in finance, accounting, and revenue cycle management services.
  • Primary oversight of Finance, Accounting, and Revenue Cycle Management; secondary oversight of IT and Legal departments.
  • Preferred experience in Private Equity-backed organizations; ideally experienced in navigating a company through an exit process.
  • Experience with multi-site healthcare organizations; ideally managed entities with revenues around $50 million across multiple states.
  • Experience in the dermatology sector is advantageous but not essential.

Educational Background:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Certification: CPA certification is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations specific to the healthcare industry; familiarity with healthcare insurance billing practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and capable of learning new software applications.
