Position Overview

Chubb is in search of a seasoned Senior Claims Operations Manager to oversee a dedicated team of healthcare liability claims professionals. This pivotal role involves guiding the team in the effective management of third-party claims.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the AVP and VP of Claims, the Senior Claims Operations Manager will collaborate with their team to ensure comprehensive oversight of claim management processes. The Manager will mentor and empower the team in various aspects, including:
  • Leading a team of claims professionals.
  • Directing the assignment of new claims, ensuring thorough investigations and accurate coverage assessments.
  • Implementing a systematic review process for claims, ensuring each file is evaluated regularly.
  • Providing constructive feedback and coaching to enhance team performance.
  • Establishing and sharing performance metrics and productivity targets.
  • Analyzing performance data and conducting quality reviews.
  • Facilitating effective collaboration with legal counsel and litigation teams.
  • Ensuring timely preparation of detailed claim summaries and updates for clients.
  • Managing loss and expense reserves in accordance with established authority limits.
  • Monitoring the progress of claims and addressing any emerging issues.
  • Reporting any significant exposures or concerns to claims leadership.
  • Assisting in the enhancement of claims handling procedures.
  • Collaborating with leadership to achieve optimal results and participate in claims reviews.
  • Ensuring all necessary documentation and releases are secured for claims processing.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records and documentation for each claim.
  • Adhering to all regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Updating claims with relevant Medicare data as required.
  • Striving to meet or exceed established performance objectives.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in claims management or a related field, with a strong focus on professional and general liability claims.
  • Possession of a P&C insurance adjuster license where applicable.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance industry practices and claims management principles.
  • Proven expertise in navigating complex coverage issues.
  • Familiarity with insurance and legal frameworks.
  • Understanding of P&C Group coverage and services.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and partners.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating complex issues.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher; a JD is preferred.
