Chubb is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Manager to lead a team of professional healthcare liability claims adjusters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims management and a proven track record of success in handling complex claims.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise a team of claims professionals and provide guidance on claims handling procedures.
- Assign new claims and provide direction to claims professionals on coverage, investigation, and settlement.
- Maintain a diary system to ensure timely review of claims and provide coaching and feedback to direct reports.
- Develop and implement performance and productivity goals for the team.
- Review and analyze performance results and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Work with claims professionals to ensure effective communication with defense counsel and litigation teams.
- Prepare and submit reports to claims leadership on claim status, investigation, and settlement opportunities.
- Post loss and expense reserves in the claims system and recommend reserve changes to AVP and/or VP of Claims.
- Review and discuss claims progress and status with claims leadership and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and submit reports to claims leadership on unusual or potentially undesirable exposures.
- Assist claims leadership in formulating improvements in claims handling procedures.
- Work with partnership leaders to deliver results and attend meetings and claim reviews.
- Review and confirm claims professionals have secured necessary releases, proofs of loss, or compensation agreements.
- Maintain accurate and complete claims files with necessary documentation.
- Follow all company and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Update claims with Medicare data and address Medicare reporting and interest.
- Meet or exceed performance goals.
- 10 or more years of experience as a claim professional and/or claims management with a high degree of specialized and technical competence in the handling of professional and general liability claims.
- P&C insurance adjuster license where required.
- Knowledge of insurance industry and claims handling concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong background and demonstrated ability in dealing with significant coverage matters.
- Understanding of insurance and legal principles.
- Knowledge of P&C Group coverage and services.
- Working knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and make prompt, reasoned decisions based on detailed analysis of complex issues.
- Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher. JD preferred.
The pay range for this role is $92,500 to $158,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, which can be found on our careers website.
