About the Role

The Account Executive is a key member of the Matson Logistics team, responsible for generating revenue through the performance of domestic intermodal and highway brokerage services. This role requires a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams to create customized transportation solutions for customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Call on existing and prospective customer accounts to secure new business and preserve existing relationships.
  • Create and cultivate relationships with customers to generate business and achieve positive gross margins for Matson Logistics.
  • Identify new business prospects and establish goals and objectives for obtaining invitations to bid on and secure business.
  • Engage in activities such as approved travel and customer entertainment to increase Matson Logistics' market share, business, volumes, and corresponding margins.
  • Act as a team leader and work effectively with internal teams to create customized transportation solutions for customers.
  • Provide timely follow-up to customers and utilize effective internal and external communications.
  • Complete all sales and activity reports thoroughly and provide requested data on a timely basis.
  • Effectively work with customers to set realistic customer expectations and manage customer accessorial processes.
Requirements
  • High school degree or GED and five (5) or more years of transportation sales experience required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis, as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Business, Marketing, Transportation, or related field preferred.
