The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technology Executive to serve as the Executive Director of HRA Technology/Eligibility Systems. This role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of complex systems to support the HRA's mission to fight poverty and income inequality.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement long-range business strategies to achieve program objectives
- Manage the design, development, and delivery of software solutions
- Coordinate and upgrade existing applications to improve agency productivity
- Meet regularly with senior management to review project status and discuss strategies
- Manage a team of computer professionals and ensure individual operations are within budget
To be considered for this role, candidates must have a master's degree in computer science and three years of experience in IT, including applications development, systems development, and data communications. At least 18 months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity. Alternatively, candidates may have a baccalaureate degree and four years of experience, or a four-year high school diploma and six years of experience.
Preferred Skills- Ability to manage and direct a large office of computer professionals
- Extensive experience in leading and managing multiple application development teams
- Excellent administrative, management, strategic, and operational planning skills
- Deep knowledge of the application development and deployment life cycle
- Knowledgeable of current computer software, hardware, and telecommunications technologies
