Position Overview

LMI is in search of an experienced Supply Chain Management Consultant to support the Marine Corps Logistics Command. Our ideal candidate will exhibit proficiency in USMC Intermediate Supply utilizing the Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy-ERP). A solid understanding of Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) methodology, as well as USMC and DoD Supply and Maintenance processes, is essential. Candidates should possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access, alongside a meticulous attention to detail, strong project management capabilities, and effective leadership and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating current supply chain systems, focusing on inventory management, maintenance, and distribution.
  • Examine intricate logistics support systems and reports to identify issues.
  • Review historical and present data to uncover discrepancies and redundancies.
  • Create training materials for users of newly automated systems.
  • Conduct demonstrations and training sessions for users on new and upgraded automated systems.
  • Provide consulting on USMC logistics strategies and supply chain management policies, emphasizing weapon system lifecycle support and inventory management processes.
  • Lead projects aimed at analyzing and recommending improvements for existing supply chain systems at both wholesale and retail levels.
  • Support inventory management, provisioning, distribution, and packaging principles to ensure efficient logistics performance across the enterprise.
  • Assist in establishing lifecycle management activities for weapon systems, including compliance with statutory requirements and standardization programs.
  • Help address audit findings and material weaknesses in inventory and requisitioning processes.
  • Support innovative solutions for inventory and distribution challenges to enhance business practices.
  • Monitor Defense Components Supply Working Capital Funds programming and budgeting requirements.
  • Evaluate logistics and supply chain policies against performance metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Provide administrative and technical writing support for maintaining and updating supply chain policies, collaborating with government stakeholders.
  • Deliver program management support, conduct data analysis, and prepare briefings for USMC leadership.
  • Draft and finalize correspondence, including reports, presentations, and meeting minutes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Over 12 years of experience in DoD logistics and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with advanced modeling, networking, scheduling, and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to engage effectively with senior executives.
  • Capability to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Detail-oriented and self-directed, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred.
  • Previous military or DoD civilian/contractor experience.
  • Knowledge of USMC Intermediate Supply using GCSS-MC.
  • Experience with Navy-ERP.
  • Familiarity with FIAR methodology.
  • Understanding of USMC and DoD Supply and Maintenance processes.
