The Supply Technician will facilitate a cohesive SPD/Sterile Core/Supply Chain Management operation within the surgical environment, functioning under the guidance of the OR RN clinical manager(s).

Ensures that all surgeon requirements, as outlined on the surgical preference card, are meticulously prepared and assembled ahead of the scheduled procedures, while also expediting needs for add-on and emergency cases.

Acts as a vital link between the Surgery departments, SPD, Materials Management, and Clinical Engineering to guarantee the availability of safe instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.

Maintains an accurate inventory of supplies and instruments within the surgical cores, tracking usage through established inventory and instrument control systems as directed by Supply Chain Management and Perioperative Services.

Salary Range:
$ $26.15

4. Complete the assembly of surgical case carts, ensuring they are fully stocked and delivered to the designated suite ahead of the procedure.

5. Maintain a foundational understanding of the SPD case cart assembly process for backup or urgent replenishment situations.

6. Ensure all unopened and unused supplies are returned to their designated locations and documented in the inventory control system, ensuring timely return of SPD-related supplies.

7. Actively assist surgical staff by providing necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment before or during procedures.

8. Confirm that all supplies are patient-safe, ensuring they are not expired and follow hospital policy for recalled items.

9. Establish and maintain a stock inventory of all supplies and instruments for the assigned core/service, utilizing a handheld computer to monitor usage and conduct inventory cycle counts for accuracy.

10. Initiate restock orders for all inventory items and process supply and equipment requisitions as needed.

11. Collaborate with various vendors to ensure the availability of specialty products and assist in problem-solving and researching case-specific items.

12. Record received supplies in the inventory system, placing them in the assigned bin locations, including lot, serial, and expiry information where applicable.

13. Serve as a resource in the value analysis process, assisting clinical staff with inquiries regarding supplies, instruments, and equipment.

14. Ensure case carts are fully stocked according to the surgeon's predefined preference cards by reviewing partially assembled carts from SPD and completing the assembly with remaining items from the surgical cores.
