Job Overview

The primary role of the Patient Care Technician II is to guarantee that all hemodialysis treatment protocols are executed in accordance with the policies and procedures of the ZFGH Renal Center. This position involves providing each hemodialysis patient with safe and effective treatment and attention throughout their therapy sessions. The Patient Care Technician II must maintain clear communication with the Charge Nurse to ensure the delivery of safe and appropriate dialysis treatment to patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Additionally, this role requires the initiation of hemodialysis therapy based on physician orders and the reporting of any unsafe practices to the Nurse Manager. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

The final compensation and offer details are subject to further approvals in line with UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range will depend on various factors, including your work experience and internal equity within this job classification at UCSF. For positions represented by a labor union, salary placement will adhere to the collective bargaining agreement guidelines.

The salary range for this position is $41.10 per hour.

Essential Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Hemodialysis
  • Valid certification as a California Hemodialysis Technician
  • Current CPR certification
  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT)
