Key Responsibilities- Infection Control and Prevention
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections and maintain a sterile environment.
- Implement Standard Precautions to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Quality Assurance and Monitoring
- Validate and maintain sterilization and disinfection protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and record sterilization and disinfection processes to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Instrument Processing and Preparation
- Process and prepare reusable medical instruments and equipment for sterilization and disinfection.
- Assemble and package instruments and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Equipment and Supply Management
- Manage and maintain inventory of medical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Order and restock medical instruments, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Communication and Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification
- Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification or equivalent required.
- Experience
- One year of experience in instrument processing or a related field required.
- Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and instrumentation.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and protocols.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
