Overview:
Dennis Group is seeking motivated individuals for our Process Engineer Internship. Our Process Engineers play a crucial role in the design and construction of food and beverage processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will engage in various aspects of project development, including:
  • Establishing process design criteria and selecting appropriate unit operations.
  • Creating operational specifications.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, designers, architects, etc.).
  • Drafting process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Conducting mass and energy balance calculations.
  • Sizing and specifying process and utility equipment.
  • Assisting in equipment procurement and bid evaluations.
  • Supporting project management in defining project scope, budget, and timeline for process-related tasks.
  • Coordinating schedules and overseeing contractors for equipment installation.
  • Working with clients and suppliers to prepare cost estimates and proposals.
  • Providing recommendations based on client needs.
  • Developing process and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs).
  • Supervising the installation of process and utility equipment.
  • Offering on-site support during construction start-up and commissioning.
  • Researching best practices in process engineering.
  • Contributing to the growth of talent within our organization.

Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who are:
  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in a Bachelor's degree program in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Familiar with process flow diagrams and P&IDs (preferred).
  • Interested in food safety and sanitary design principles, with a desire to learn about industry standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Possessing previous experience in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or other sanitary environments (a plus).
  • Exhibiting a motivated and results-oriented attitude.

Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site project coordination, with travel requirements between 30-50%.

Physical Requirements:
Interns should be prepared for prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as the ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
