Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Travel Sales Counselor to join our team at AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional travel sales and support experiences to our members while attracting new clientele.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell international and domestic vacation packages, cruises, tours, hotel, car rental, rail, and air travel.
  • Research and evaluate travel packages to match member needs and deliver exceptional member experiences.
  • Stay current with world events and travel industry developments, providing relevant information to members.
  • Process and interpret travel documents for members purchasing travel products with AAA and inform them of governmental requirements.
  • Initiate contact with members and past customers to prospect for new business and encourage repeat business.
  • Cross-sell products and services, such as insurance and new membership accounts.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills and experience with industry-specific applications.
  • GDS experience required.
  • Knowledge of travel products and worldwide geography.
  • Strong consultative selling skills and ability to listen to member needs.
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of recent experience selling international and domestic travel services (preferred).
  • Travel Institute certification as CTA, CTC, or CTIE (preferred).

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use.
  • May travel for business meetings or conferences.

This role is subject to an incentive plan that includes commissions and/or piece rate bonuses. While top performers earn more, we expect most employees to earn between $0 - $38,000 annually in incentives, contingent on performance. New Travel Counselors are eligible for a bonus guarantee for the first five quarters.
