Job Overview

The Italiano is seeking a skilled Broiler Cook to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food to exact specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, ensuring a seamless workflow.
  • Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Answer, report, and follow instructions from executive or sous chefs, demonstrating a proactive and responsive attitude.
  • Clean up stations and take care of leftover food, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Stock inventory appropriately, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
  • Ensure that food is served simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion, meeting the expectations of our customers.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations, as well as safety standards, to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers, fostering a collaborative and respectful team culture.

Requirements:

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, including food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
