POSITION: Vice President of People + Culture

DESCRIPTION:

We are in search of a highly skilled and collaborative Vice President of People + Culture to lead our Human Resources division and work closely with our Executive Committee. This hybrid role necessitates in-office presence 2-3 days per week in the Bay Area, with occasional travel to various properties for onsite training and orientation sessions, estimated at 10-15% of the time.

As a strategic partner within the organization, this position will be integral to the Executive Committee, ensuring that our people strategies are in sync with both daily operations and long-term business objectives. The VP of People + Culture will engage with senior leadership to facilitate organizational growth by proactively identifying and addressing needs to create effective human resource solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen and serve as a professional and positive leader in a dynamic and evolving environment.

The successful candidate will possess 2-3 years of senior leadership experience (VP or Corporate Director level) within the hospitality sector, combining expertise in both luxury hotel and multi-unit restaurant human resources. We seek an individual who is adaptable, collaborative, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced setting.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in hospitality-related HR, managing teams of over 1000 individuals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws, particularly in California.
  • Experience in hands-on training and development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret HR metrics.
  • Ability to obtain any government-required licenses or certifications.
