Position Overview

As a Senior Field Examiner within PNC's Business Credit division, you will have the flexibility to work remotely, provided you have a designated, confidential workspace.

*This role necessitates regular fieldwork, including frequent overnight travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee intricate Field Examinations on current borrowers and support examinations conducted by fellow examiners. These evaluations may occur entirely on-site at borrower locations or in a hybrid model combining on-site and remote work.
  • Conduct independent assessments of existing borrowers' collateral documentation and financial statements to evaluate collateral values securing loans, identifying potential weaknesses or deterioration. Review accounting system controls, data integrity, and oversight of managerial controls and accounting personnel. Ensure collateral is reported and managed according to the stipulations in the Loan Agreement.
  • Draft comprehensive Field Examination reports and accompanying workpapers that outline significant findings, material discrepancies, conclusions, and necessary recommendations for enhancements. These reports serve as vital resources for Portfolio Management and/or the Credit Approval Committee to assess the creditworthiness of collateral associated with existing or prospective loans, facilitating informed credit decisions. Communicate and escalate critical examination findings, concerns, delays, or borrower limitations to lending and credit teams. Engage in discussions with the Relationship Manager, deal team members (including Field Examiners, Appraisers, Underwriters, Business Development Officers, and Credit Policy Manager), and representatives from existing or potential borrowers (typically CFOs, CEOs, or Controllers) to address any collateral-related issues.
  • Verify accurate reporting of collateral on Borrowing Base Certificates. Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions outlined in the Loan Approval.
  • When leading an Examination, manage the due diligence process and guide the daily activities of other assigned Field Examiners to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and promptly. Mentor junior and new Field Examiners, assessing their progress and reporting to the Recurring Business Regional Field Examination Manager.

Qualifications

Typically requires a university/college degree, along with 3+ years of relevant industry experience. Certifications are often preferred. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered.
