Position Overview
This role necessitates access to confidential supervisory information and/or Federal Open Market Committee data, which is restricted to "Protected Individuals" as defined by U.S. federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents who are either not yet eligible for naturalization or have applied for naturalization within the required timeframe. Candidates who do not hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may qualify for the necessary information access for this role and sponsorship for a work visa, provided they sign a declaration of intent to pursue U.S. citizenship and meet other eligibility criteria.

All candidates must undergo a thorough background check and adhere to all relevant information handling regulations. Non-U.S. citizens must also sign a declaration of intent to seek U.S. citizenship and follow a path to citizenship.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the Federal Reserve's mission of maintaining financial system stability.
• Conduct examinations of complex or troubled community and regional financial institutions, as well as large financial entities and problematic community banking organizations (CBO) and regional banking organizations (RBO).
• Identify risks through both on-site and off-site supervisory activities to ensure financial institutions operate safely and comply with banking laws and regulations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced examiners and contribute to or lead strategic initiatives.

Essential Duties
• Develop and implement a comprehensive quality control program for CBO business lines to ensure supervisory activities and outputs meet the highest standards and align with supervisory guidance.
• Conduct quality control assessments on examination workpapers and operational activities, ensuring timely feedback and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Maintain business line leadership quality control reporting and recommend solutions to enhance adherence to quality control standards.
• Collaborate effectively with representatives from other regulatory agencies as needed.
• Review and contribute to strategies for implementing applicable AD & SR letters for CBO/RBO lines of business.
• Serve as the primary contact for Board Oversight Reviews, Quality Assurance Reviews, and Internal Audits, ensuring efficient coordination with management.
• Participate in district and Federal Reserve System committees, workgroups, or projects, demonstrating excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to examiners.
• Organize business line meetings and manage SharePoint and Teams sites, collaborating with leadership to implement operational changes.
• Occasionally serve as Examiner-In-Charge for complex or troubled financial institutions without oversight.
• Assess risks, internal controls, and compliance with laws and regulations, completing assignments in alignment with departmental standards.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation by offering creative solutions to challenges and enhancing processes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
• Examiner I: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Examiner II: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required.
• Senior Examiner: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required.
• Commissioned Examiner of the Federal Reserve System is required.

Knowledge and Skills
• Advanced to expert ability in conducting independent research.
• Advanced knowledge of project management principles.
• Comprehensive understanding of bank examination regulations and practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capable of public speaking and delivering presentations.
• Intermediate to advanced strategic thinking and planning skills.

Work Environment
This position typically operates in a traditional office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Physical movement includes walking for meetings and breaks, with the ability to lift items weighing approximately 20 pounds occasionally. Travel by car or air may be required.
