To support our growing operations, we are currently in search of a Senior Field Service Technician to enhance our skilled and rapidly expanding workforce. The Senior Field Service Technician will take charge of and execute testing, maintenance, and repair tasks for low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control systems, and other electrical equipment both in the workshop and on-site. This position will also contribute to engineering design initiatives by assisting with wiring, testing, and commissioning of relay and switchgear upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of safe operational practices within the electrical sector.
  • Demonstrate a solid theoretical foundation in electric power systems and their functionalities.
  • Exhibit familiarity and expertise with the complexities associated with data center environments.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and start-up procedures for low and medium voltage electrical systems up to 15kV.
  • Perform testing on low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, medium voltage cables, switchgear, and motor controllers.
  • Utilize and accurately interpret readings from meters and testing equipment.
  • Exhibit strong proficiency in reading and understanding schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Prepare detailed test reports documenting tests, maintenance, and repairs executed.
  • Effectively lead field crews, planning and delegating tasks to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with project specifications.
  • Uphold and enforce safety standards, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and fostering a culture of safety excellence across all field activities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools and major testing equipment software.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in power generation facilities, industrial services, primary power distribution, and associated protection and control systems.
  • High school diploma or GED; an associate degree in electrical engineering technology is preferred.
  • Licensure and certifications such as NETA 2, 3, or 4 are preferred.
  • Experience with Power DB for accurate documentation is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in testing electro-mechanical and solid-state relays and meters is beneficial.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Demonstrate professional and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to independently resolve project-related challenges.
  • Manage time effectively, prioritizing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, business insight, and management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and necessary equipment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, with flexibility for overtime, extended hours, and occasional work during nights, weekends, and holidays. Increased travel and hours may be required during peak periods.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
