To support our growth trajectory, we are in search of a Senior Field Service Technician to enhance our dynamic and rapidly expanding workforce. In this role, our Senior Field Service Technicians will spearhead and execute testing, maintenance, and repair tasks for low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control systems, and other electrical equipment both in the workshop and on-site. This position will also involve contributing to engineering design initiatives, specifically in the areas of wiring, testing, and commissioning relay and switchgear upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of safe operational practices within the electrical sector.
- Possess a robust theoretical foundation in electric power systems and their functionalities.
- Demonstrate familiarity and expertise with the complexities associated with data center environments.
- Conduct inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and initiate start-up procedures for low and medium voltage electrical systems up to 15kV.
- Perform testing on low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, medium voltage cables, switchgear, and motor controllers.
- Utilize and accurately interpret readings from meters and testing equipment.
- Show proficiency in reading and understanding schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Prepare detailed test reports documenting tests, maintenance, and repairs conducted.
- Effectively lead field crews, planning and delegating tasks to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with project specifications.
- Uphold and enforce safety standards, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and fostering a culture of safety excellence across all field operations.
- Exhibit proficiency in the use of hand tools.
- Have experience with major testing equipment software.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in power generation facilities, industrial services, primary power distribution, and associated protection and control schemes.
- A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree in electrical engineering technology is preferred.
- Licensure and certifications such as NETA 2, 3, or 4 are advantageous.
- Experience with Power DB for accurate documentation is a plus.
- Previous experience in testing electro-mechanical and solid-state relays and meters is beneficial.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Demonstrate professional and effective communication when interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to independently resolve project-related issues.
- Manage time effectively, with the capacity to prioritize multiple projects under competing deadlines.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and leadership qualities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and necessary equipment.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work remotely.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%, with flexibility for overtime, extended hours, and occasional work during nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possession of a valid and current driver’s license with a clean driving record.
