Role Summary: As a Business Analyst II, you will be integral in liaising with various functional departments to comprehend system change requests and convert them into actionable design documents for our IT team. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be crucial in our Guidewire PolicyCenter initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Communication: Collaborate closely with major business functions to document and clarify change requests, translating them into actionable plans for the IT department.
  • System Integration: Work alongside solution architects and developers to design systems that integrate effectively with both internal and external applications, ensuring all dependencies are managed efficiently.
  • Impact Assessment: Analyze how changes in business processes will influence technical requirements across the organization.
  • Project Guidance: Oversee ideas through the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure thorough documentation, development, testing, and implementation of new business processes and system modifications.
  • Documentation Creation: Develop comprehensive Software Requirements Specifications, use cases, technical requirements, wireframes, and system flow diagrams for Guidewire configurations and custom software projects.
  • Troubleshooting: Partner with the Operations team to address production issues and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions, ensuring a seamless transition from development to production.
  • Liaison Duties: Serve as the primary liaison between functional leads, development teams, and support teams, ensuring effective communication and successful project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of practical experience as an IT Business Analyst, particularly with Guidewire PolicyCenter projects.
  • Agile Experience: Strong understanding and experience in Agile methodologies.
  • Technical Writing: Proficient in creating detailed Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), use cases, and wireframes.
  • Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and negotiate consensus among departments with varying priorities.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with web development tools, defect-tracking software, and an understanding of HTML, XML, SOAP APIs, and UX design.
  • Industry Expertise: Solid background in Property & Casualty Insurance, especially in Homeowners and Commercial Property.

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
