Position Overview

The IT Business Analyst plays a crucial role in the deployment and support of business information systems across various departments. This position involves collaboration with Product Owners and business leaders to manage team backlogs and help define and realize strategic objectives. The analyst facilitates change by assisting leaders in articulating business requirements and conducting working sessions with architects to develop transformative solutions. A solution-oriented mindset is essential, as the analyst is encouraged to identify opportunities for process enhancements that drive systemic improvements within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive business requirements documents, project charters, and other analytical documentation to assist IT project management and product development teams in understanding, scheduling, and tracking product development initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between product and program development teams, business stakeholders, and product owners to ascertain the business needs of software products and the technical execution of business requests.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement sessions to prioritize operational and strategic tasks for development teams.
  • Lead discussions with business stakeholders and product owners to define, prioritize, and monitor annual roadmaps for product development projects.
  • Engage with business stakeholders and product owners to guide project decisions, evaluate the risks of various solutions, and prioritize competing business needs.
  • Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including creating UAT plans, identifying UAT participants, and maintaining a UAT Issues Document to track identified bugs, their priority, and resolution.
  • Utilize project and task management software to monitor software development progress and address production issues.
  • Manage company-wide communications regarding software enhancements and project updates.
  • Conduct research and analysis on healthcare/user data.
  • Plan and oversee multiple assignments of varying complexity.
  • Assist in the research, analysis, and coordination of production software issues.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on at least one program or product supported by development teams.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A degree in Analysis, Technical/Business Administration, or Communication fields, along with three years of relevant experience, or a minimum of six years in specific Business Analyst roles.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL (writing queries, analyzing SQL data, etc.).
  • A minimum of four years of demonstrated experience with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Six years of experience in creating software development requirements documents.
  • Six years of experience in writing development tasks derived from requirements documents.
  • A minimum of four years of experience interacting with senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively in various team settings.

Working Conditions

  • Work is conducted indoors in a home office environment, with minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Frequent interaction with VDT screens and computers.
  • Physical demands include the ability to remain stationary, move about in an office or remote setting, communicate and exchange information, inspect data, and perform repetitive motions with arms and fingers.
  • Mental demands include the ability to interpret data, solve problems, make decisions, and organize and plan effectively.

Compensation and Benefits:

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $108,000 annually, depending on various factors including skills, education, certifications, prior experience, market data, and other relevant considerations. This position is also eligible for a bonus based on both company and individual performance.
