About this Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care Holdings, Inc. as a Renal Nutrition Specialist. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in delivering unique nutritional care to patients facing end-stage renal disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient knowledge and provide education on the relationship between diet and kidney disease, impacting the treatment process.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on nutritional status, adequacy measures, and results, fluid status, and all nutrition-related lab parameters.
  • Complete nutritional assessments and work with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized comprehensive plans of care for patients.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, including progress notes.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and counseling to assist patients in achieving and sustaining effective nutritional status.
  • Identify malnourished or at-risk patients and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify appropriate interventions, resources, or solutions.
  • Monitor, adjust, and document response to nutrition therapy and address any issues impacting patient goals.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on Urea Kinetic Modeling recommendations to achieve physician-prescribed Kt/V.
  • Report on nutrition QAI results and participate in the interdisciplinary QAI program.
  • Review nutrition-related lab results, counsel patients and/or caregivers, and formulate appropriate action.
  • Recommend treatment changes to the interdisciplinary team as needed.
  • Communicate with physicians and/or facility staff as necessary.
Requirements
  • Registered Dietitian as per Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition encouraged.
  • Current state licensure if applicable.
  • 1+ year experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian.
  • Previous renal experience preferred.
