Job Responsibilities:

Join the mission to enhance the health of our community by becoming a Nutrition Education Specialist. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about nutrition education, breastfeeding advocacy, and empowering families through community health initiatives.

Key Duties:

  • Conduct personalized nutrition evaluations to determine participant eligibility for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program, including comprehensive health histories, dietary assessments, and risk evaluations.
  • Design and prescribe customized WIC food packages.
  • Document high-risk participant assessments using the SOAP Note format and provide tailored follow-up for low-risk participants.
  • Develop and implement nutrition education programs and training sessions for low-risk participants, while also directing them to online nutrition resources.
  • Promote and support breastfeeding among pregnant and nursing participants, ensuring they receive appropriate care and resources.
  • Educate participants on formula options available through WIC and monitor compliance with nutritional guidelines.
  • Collaborate actively as part of a multidisciplinary WIC team, participating in clinic scheduling, caseload management, and outreach efforts.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, or a related field. An associate degree in a relevant area combined with two years of applicable nutrition experience may also be considered.

Experience in clinical, public health, or institutional nutrition settings will be evaluated in lieu of educational qualifications upon HR approval.

Willingness to acquire specialized skills for screening and anthropometric measurements is essential.
