About the Job

The Accounting Manager role is a key position within our client's organization, responsible for delivering finance and accounting services. This includes performing advanced general ledger accounting tasks, such as calculating prepaids, month-end accruals, general ledger and bank reconciliations, and grant tracking. Additionally, the role involves managing payroll and staff benefits, while providing support to various departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process accounts payable checks, credit card transactions, and other incurred expenses.
  • Manage the processing of payments from various sources, including individuals, business partners, foundations, and more.
  • Ensure precise coding of revenue and expenses to facilitate accurate financial reporting.
  • Conduct reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, as well as all balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to payroll, property tax, human resources, and other governmental reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with an external financial consultant to monitor operating reserves and provide periodic recommendations to the CEO and finance committee.
  • Supervise document retention policies associated with various aspects of the organization.
  • Prepare schedules for the annual audit and assist auditors as required.
  • Manage the preparation and processing of payroll, related benefits, and HR activities.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in general ledger accounting, payroll management, and financial reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is also required.
