Salary: Dependent on Experience

At Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center, we pride ourselves on being the premier 24/7 Specialty and Emergency veterinary facility within a 250-mile radius. Our dedicated team includes board-certified specialists across various fields such as Surgery, Emergency and Critical Care, and Internal Medicine, alongside our newly established Urgent Care unit. We are committed to providing advanced medical treatments, including blood transfusions, chemotherapy, and complex surgical interventions.

As a Client Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between our clients and veterinary professionals. Your responsibilities will include presenting treatment options with clarity and confidence, preparing financial agreements as authorized, and ensuring seamless communication among clients, veterinary technicians, and doctors.

Available Position:

  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a financial intermediary between clients and veterinary staff, articulating treatment plans and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Exhibit exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Maintain a proactive attitude, ready to assist wherever necessary.
  • Provide compassionate support to clients navigating the challenges of veterinary care.
  • Engage with a diverse clientele, explaining financial processes and veterinary procedures with clarity.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Availability for weekend and holiday shifts is preferred.

Core Duties:

  • Manage appointment check-ins and emergency arrivals.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and information readiness.
  • Maintain effective communication with veterinary staff.
  • Keep clients informed about appointment timelines and delays.
  • Provide clarity on the triage process and associated fees.
  • Coordinate specialty appointments and manage referral documentation.
  • Handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Assist clients with financial inquiries and needs.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year in a customer service role is required.
  • Experience in a veterinary setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Cash handling and accounting experience is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Typical conditions for a veterinary hospital, with moderate to high noise levels.
  • Physical demands include lifting and moving patients and inventory.
