Principal Engineer, Interconnects Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating platform systems, including shelter systems, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, and facility development.
Key Responsibilities- Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.
- Design, develop, and document cables, harnesses, and connectors to meet defense system requirements.
- Lead cross-functional teams as a technical lead through all phases of development from proposal generation to production.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop robust design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
- Work with limited supervision and meet technical, schedule, and monetary commitments.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
- Experience designing cables, harnesses, and connectors for defense or commercial systems.
- Experience with MIL-Spec Fiber Optic and Radio Frequency cables, assemblies, and/or connectors.
- Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US government issued security clearance is required.
- A competitive salary range of $96,000 - $200,000.
