Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Test Development Engineer to join our Sensor Test Solutions (STS) department within Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) at RTX. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating advanced test platforms and architectures for various programs within RTX.

Key Responsibilities

Work with internal and external partners on the design and deployment of complex factory test systems
Lead development of test hardware, software, and/or firmware through its development cycle, from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities
Collaborate with Hardware Design and Operations teams early in development cycle to identify capability and capacity needs for manufacturing test and ensure smooth deployment to manufacturing facilities
Actively identify test readiness issues and optimizations through the development lifecycle
Lead medium-to-large sized teams to meet project budget, schedule, and performance commitments

Requirements

Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience
Experience in an engineering design and development environment with 4+ years direct experience with Test Equipment design and development tasks
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with National Instruments' TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW
Digital, and/or Analog, and/or RF, and/or power supply test hardware design experience
Use of Commercial Test and Measurement Equipment
VXI/VME/MXI/PXI/CompactPCI Application Development
CMMI and 6 Sigma Experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
Experience with VHDL a plus
Software applications / programming skills a plus
